General Questions:

What do I get for my entry fee?

All participants in the Jolly Pumpkin Run will receive a 100% awesome sport tech UNISEX tee shirt, finisher medal, and the post-race food buffet.  Drinks (in addition to bottled water on the course) will include beer, or pop. There will be one drink ticket on your race bib.  Age group awards are presented for the 5K event for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.

Drink tickets –  You are required to be at least 21 years of age and have your driver license ID & race bib ready to enter our secured beer area.

What are the different types of Jolly Pumpkin beer?

How can I sign up for the events?

Are there entry limits for the race?

Yes…

The 5K Run/Walk is limited to 2,500.  

What are the age limits for the races?

There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us.

Is the race events walker friendly?

Yes, we will have plenty of participants that will walk. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the race corral so as not to impede the faster runners.

Are there refunds if cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib no?

NO REFUNDS; ONLY TRANSFERS ALLOWED TO ANOTHER PERSON BEFORE OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES!

Are baby joggers or strollers or pet dogs allowed during the race?

If you choose to run with a baby jogger or a pet dog, you must seed yourself in the back of all runners. It is your responsibility to make sure the baby jogger or pet dog does not impede other runners as well as you must take extra precaution as to your safety, your child’s safety and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any person from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.  All dogs MUST be kept on a SHORT leash.

Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?

Headphones are allowed for any runner however, we do recommend that runners use extreme precaution when using headphones during the race event for safety reasons.

When is the last day to register?

The last day to register “online” is Thursday, September 13th by 11:00 pm EST.

How will I receive my race packet?

You must pick up your race packet before the event. We will not mail race packets.

Do you accept credit cards for registration race day?

No, cash or check only.

Will there be water stations?

Yes.  At the Starting line, on the course, and at the finish line.

Will there be medical aid stations?

There will be a medical first aid tent at the start/finish area.

Will there be bathrooms/portable toilets available?

There are bathrooms inside the Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant & Tap House and there will be portable toilets available outside.

Where can we park for the event and are there shuttle buses?

There are NO shuttle buses.  You can park in Downtown Royal Oak.  FIND WHERE TO PARK HERE.

Where are start/finish lines and the event start times?

THE FINISH LINE SHUTS DOWN AT 12:30 P.M.  Start and Finish lines are at the Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant & Tap House.  The 5K starts at 11:00 am.

What times do the courses close?

B-Tag chip timing?

Runners will need to wear Race Bib on their front – shirt/ jacket/ pants – to be scored in the event (ChronoTrack B-tag is on the bib).

Awards:

Age Group Awards?

Age group awards are presented for the 5K event for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.  Awards will be given out at the Awards tent near the Start/Finish line at 12:15 PM. If you think you have won an award, please check at the Awards tent. If you are unable to wait for the official results and pick up your award on race day, you may have a friend pick it up or pay to have it shipped.
