These rates are European plan (no meals included) rates. Room rates quoted above are per room per night and are based on single/double occupancy and are non-commissionable net rates; subject to state tax (which is currently 6%) and convention and visitor’s bureau assessment (which is currently 5%), and other applicable taxes. Additional adults in a guest room will be charged a $15.00 per person, per night rate for the duration of their stay (excludes condos).

It is important that each guest contact the Resort at least thirty days prior to your arrival date and identify yourselves as part of Kona Running Company, and provide the Resort with guest name, home or business address, email address (if any), requested type of room, requested bed type (i.e. king, double/double, queen, twin or suites), check-in and check-out dates, and VIP status.

RESORT FEE:
In addition to the rates set forth above, there will be a daily resort fee. The daily resort fee is currently $16.95 per room, per night, which includes; unlimited use of resort fitness center including cardiovascular and strength training equipment, whirlpools, saunas and indoor pools, seasonal access to outdoor pools and beachfront facilities, preferred guest pricing for our golf courses and tennis facilities, in-room coffee, high-speed internet access in Hotel and Tower guest rooms, on-property shuttle service to Cherry Capital Airport and Turtle Creek Casino, unlimited toll-free and credit card access phone calls, voicemail message service, daily newspaper upon request, use of safe deposit box, preferred car rental pricing through Enterprise in Traverse City, golf bag storage, and parking. The resort fee will be automatically posted to your attendees’ guest room account. Fee and services are subject to change.

How long is the bus ride before the event?

Bus ride distances in minutes:  It’s a 25 minute bus ride from the Traverse City Central High School parking lot to the race site at The Old Mission Lighthouse.

What do I get for my entry fee?

All participants in the Jolly Pumpkin Run will receive an awesome sport tech unisex t-shirt, finisher medal, and the post-race food buffet.  Drinks (in addition to bottled water on the course) will include beer, or pop. There will be one drink ticket on your race bib.  Age group awards are presented for the 5K event for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.

Drink tickets –  You are required to be at least 21 years of age and have your driver license ID & race bib ready to enter our secured beer area.

The Mile event – This event is clock timed only and NOT chip timed.

Are there entry limits for the race?

Yes…

The 5K Run/Walk is limited to 600 in 2019.   The limit will be increased in 2020.

What are the age limits for the races?

There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us.

Is the race events walker friendly?

Yes, we will have plenty of participants that will walk. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the race corral so as not to impede the faster runners.

Are there refunds if cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib no?

NO REFUNDS; ONLY TRANSFERS ALLOWED TO ANOTHER PERSON BEFORE OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES!

Are baby joggers or strollers or pet dogs allowed during the race?

If you choose to run with a baby jogger or a pet dog, you must seed yourself in the back of all runners. It is your responsibility to make sure the baby jogger or pet dog does not impede other runners as well as you must take extra precaution as to your safety, your child’s safety and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any person from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.  All dogs MUST be kept on a SHORT leash.

Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?

Headphones are allowed for any runner however, we do recommend that runners use extreme precaution when using headphones during the race event for safety reasons.

When is the last day to register?

The last day to register “online” is Friday, May 17th by 11:00 pm EST.

Where can we park for the event and are there shuttle buses?

There is NO parking at the Old Mission Point Park.  There will be free Bus Transportation.

Shuttle Buses BEFORE the event:  There will be free bus transportation from Traverse City Central High School to the race site at the Old Mission Lighthouse (25 minute ride).  The address of the High School is 1150 Milliken Dr., Traverse City, MI  49686.  ( MAP )  Packet pickup and late registration starts at the high school at 8:00 a.m. so the first shuttle departs the high school at 8:15 am.  The race starts at 10:00 am.  Only registered participants with race bibs are allowed on the buses.

Shuttle Buses AFTER the event: For the return trip, the buses will first stop at the Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant on Old Mission for your beverage & finger foods. You must have your Race Bib to redeem your drink & food tickets. ID’s will be checked.  After a brief stop, the buses next stop will be at the High School where your car is parked.  The buses will then continue to loop after that from the race site, to the Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant, and then to the High School parking lot where your car is parked.  The last Shuttle departs the race site at the Old Mission Lighthouse at 11:30 am.

No, cash or check only.

Will there be water stations?

Yes.  At the Starting line, on the course, and at the finish line.

Will there be medical aid stations?

There will be a medical first aid station at the start/finish area.

Will there be bathrooms/portable toilets available?

There are bathrooms inside the Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant & Tap House and there will be portable toilets available outside.

THE FINISH LINE SHUTS DOWN AT 11:30 A.M.  Start & Finish at the Old Mission Lighthouse within the Old Mission Point Park: 20500 Center Rd, Old Mission, MI 49686 ( MAP ) The 5K event starts at 10:00 am, the Mile starts at 10:10 am.

What times do the courses close?

THE FINISH LINE SHUTS DOWN AT 11:30 A.M.

B-Tag chip timing?

Runners will need to wear Race Bib on their front – shirt/ jacket/ pants – to be scored in the event (ChronoTrack B-tag is on the bib).

The Mile event is clock timed only!

Age Group Awards?

Age group awards are presented for the 5K event for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.  Awards will be given out at the Awards table near the Start/Finish line at 12:15 PM. If you think you have won an award, please check at the Awards table. If you are unable to wait for the official results and pick up your award on race day, you may have a friend pick it up or pay to have it shipped.
